The Crescent
Belvoir Terrace, situated on the Crescent, was the home of famous poet and critic Edith Sitwell as well as her brothers Sir (Francis) Osbert Sacheverell Sitwell and Sir Sacheverell Sitwell. The Sitwell's were probably Scarborough's most famous family who can be traced back to the fourteenth century however their connection with Scarborough started in 1885 when Sir George Reresby Sitwell became a member of parliament for the town.
Modern Times
The crescent now features family homes as well as stylish apartments and hotels with great access to the South Bay and the Scarborough Town Centre.
