Outer Harbour Jetty
Scarborough harbour and marina have recently undergone major regeneration including the new Albert Strange Pontoons, a more pedestrian-friendly promenade, street lighting and seating.
The recent improvements to the inner harbour with the installation of pontoons to accommodate 60 permanent berths have transformed the Sandside area. Along with complimentary land based improvements such as the resurfacing of footpaths and implementing contemporary seating and lighting the marina area is now a stunning asset of the town.
Commercial Fishing
A mixed variety of vessels and fisheries make up the commercial fishing fleet at Scarborough Harbour, from large white fish trawlers to smaller day fishing shellfish vessels.
The landing berths are opposite the fish quay in the inner harbour and are accessible at most times. The fish quay is 180m long allowing sufficient quay space for vessels to unload their catch simultaneously. Landing davits are available for use by smaller vessels.
Fish market auctions take place on the modern refrigerated Scarborough Fish Market with agents available to conduct selling and buying operations. Whilst these are not set to specific days the largest market is on a Saturday morning.
