Jackson's Bay
Jackson's Bay is where the River Derwent reaches the North Sea. Visitors to Jackson's Bay enjoy excellent walks and breathtaking views. There is also access to Scalby Mills where rock pooling is a popular past time.
Scalby Mills and Sealife Centre
Scalby Mills is home to Scarborough’s Sea Life Centre. The centre houses thousands of fascinating sea creatures, as well as a busy and highly successful marine sanctuary for orphaned, sickly and injured seal pups. An otter sanctuary has proved an overwhelming success and the sea turtles' convalescence facility has become a firm favourite. Also Scalby Mills provides access to the Cleveland Way, northbound via the footbridge at Scalby Mills near The Sea Life Centre. The walk takes you from Scarborough to Saltburn via places such as Ravenscar, Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby.
